FAQ's

WHEN WILL MY DOCTOR GET THE RESULTS OF MY EXAM(S)?

Generally, our Radiologist will interpret your exam(s) within 24 hours of your appointment, and we will either fax or mail your report to your doctor’s office. It may take a couple of days for your report to be available to you from your doctor’s office. Please note: The final interpretation of your study may be delayed if we are waiting for pertinent prior imaging studies from other facilities. These studies may be required for the progress assessment of any ongoing condition(s).

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED TO TAKE MY RECORDS TO ANOTHER DOCTOR?

We recognize that your time is important and ask that you provide us with 24 hours notice for processing to avoid waiting when you arrive. Genesis Diagnostic Center will provide one set of films of each of your exam(s), or create a copy of your exam(s) on a CD, free of charge. If additional film copies are requested, a fee of $4.00 per sheet of film will be charged to you, payable upon receipt of the additional copies.  Simply call our office at 517-853-9124 to let us know what exam(s) you need, the name of the physician or facility that will be receiving the studies, and when you would like to pick them up.  If someone other than you is coming to pick up your records, we require, by law, your written and signed consent allowing the specified person(s) to receive the information requested.  In addition, if the patient is a minor (under the age of 18) or an adult unable to render consent for any reason, we require written consent from the patient's legal guardian or power of attorney prior to releasing any information.

WHAT INSURANCES DO YOU ACCEPT?

Genesis Diagnostic Center and Breast Center of Lansing participate with a large number of insurance plans. Please call us if you have questions regarding our participation with your insurance plan. It is your responsibility to advise us of any requirements of your policy.

WHAT ARE YOUR BUSINESS HOURS?

MRI appointments are available Tuesday-Thursday, 8AM-9PM
Nuclear Medicine appointments are available Tuesday-Thursday, 8AM-4PM
CT, US, XR and DEXA appointments are available Monday-Friday, 8AM-5PM

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?

We ask that you bring either your driver’s license or a photo ID and your insurance card(s). Please bring any prior relevant exams done at other facilities. This will allow our Radiologist to compare them to the current exam you are having and expedite the interpretation process.  Please note: If the patient is either a minor (under the age of 18) or an adult unable to render consent for any reason, we require, by law, written consent from either the patient's legal guardian or power of attorney before any exam(s) can be completed.
