YOUR VISITUpon scheduling any procedure, our schedulers will request prior studies be available to the Center for the Radiologist for comparison or correlation with your new study. Please bring the name(s) of any additional physicians that may need a copy of the Radiologist's interpretations. You may receive registration forms by mail in advance of your appointment. Please complete these forms before your appointment and bring them with you. It will expedite your experience and insure that we have all of your health history needed by the Radiologist for interpretation of your study. The information you provide is confidential and will not be released to anyone without your written authorization. Upon your arrival, our Receptionist will register you at the front desk. Kindly give us 24 hours notice for any cancellations, and we will be happy to re-schedule your studies. All of our Radiologists are board certified in their specialty, thus ensuring the highest level of quality and professionalism. We respect your time and will be as efficient as possible in completing your imaging studies. The length of time spent completing your studies depends on the complexity of your case as well as the complexity of others being imaged that day. INSURANCE / FEE / BILLINGPlease recognize that as a patient, you are the person ultimately responsible for the payment of your bill. Genesis Diagnostic Center and Breast Center of Lansing participate with a large number of insurance plans. Please call us if you have questions regarding our participation with your insurance plan. It is your responsibility to advise us of any requirements of your policy and to ensure prior authorization is obtained in advance, if necessary, for the test requested. You will find that Genesis Diagnostic Center and Breast Center of Lansing fees are significantly lower than those charged by other institutions located in this area of the country, while maintaining the highest quality of service. We understand that health care costs are a sensitive issue. Please do not hesitate to discuss any concerns you may have with our billing department at 800-279-1395. In the cases of a worker's compensation claim, please be prepared to provide our receptionists your WC compensation claims carrier, claims address, claim number, and adjuster's name and telephone number. If a worker's compensation case is denied, you may provide your health insurance information within one year of the date of service and the claim will be filed with them. If this information is not provided in a timely manner, you will be held responsible for the amount billed. If a denied worker's compensation claim is disputed and goes to litigation, please keep our billing department informed of the case progress at 800-279-1395. In cases of liability, we do not consider the existence of ongoing legal action a valid reason for delaying payment of your account. The patient or their legal guardian is responsible for prompt payment of bills regardless of litigation that may be simultaneously occurring. When payment is received for services, we promptly fulfill our responsibility to provide your attorney with information about your treatment. BILLINGWe will submit your insurance claim to all carriers on your behalf. If you have known co-pays and/or deductibles, please pay at the time your study is completed. If you have no insurance, payment will be expected at the time of your study completion. Payment of a deposit may be requested in advance of your study if no insurance coverage is available for the service. If desired, we will discuss charges and establish payment plans on an individual basis. We do not want our patients to feel their medical needs will create an undo hardship for them. No one will be denied diagnostic services because of inability to pay. However, patients who disregard bills or make no effort to discuss their circumstances will be held completely responsible. In such cases, we may be obligated to turn over the account to a collection agency. To avoid such problems, simply be forthcoming about your situation and ask for individual consideration. EMERGENCY SITUATIONSIf you need emergency medical care call 911 immediately and proceed to the nearest Emergency Department.
